01

Who is responsible

Ben Stocken is the data controller for personal information collected through benstocken.co.uk.

For privacy questions, email hello@benstocken.co.uk or call +44 (0) 7472 644496.

02

Information collected

Information is collected when you choose to join the signed-book waitlist, contact Ben, or book a meeting. Depending on what you do, this may include:

  • your name, email address and mobile number;
  • your company, country or region;
  • the number of books you are interested in;
  • the details of your enquiry or message; and
  • technical information needed to deliver and protect the website, such as IP address, browser and device information.

This website does not intentionally collect special-category personal data. Please do not include sensitive information in free-text messages.

03

How and why it is used

Your information may be used to:

  • manage the limited signed-book waitlist and contact you about availability;
  • respond to enquiries and arrange speaking, advisory or other meetings;
  • maintain records of conversations and agreed work; and
  • operate, secure and improve the website.

The lawful bases relied on are taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, performing a contract, and legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, managing the waitlist and running a secure website. Where consent is requested for a separate purpose, you may withdraw it at any time.

Joining the waitlist does not subscribe you to general marketing and does not guarantee that a copy will be available.

04

Who it is shared with

Personal information is shared only where needed to provide the service or meet a legal obligation. Service providers currently include:

  • HubSpot, which provides the waitlist form, CRM and meeting-booking services;
  • Webflow, which hosts and delivers the website;
  • Google reCAPTCHA, used by the embedded form to reduce spam and abuse; and
  • professional advisers, technology providers or public authorities where reasonably necessary or legally required.

Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where that happens, appropriate safeguards offered by the provider or required by data-protection law are relied upon.

Links to services such as LinkedIn, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, Atherio and The One Fifty lead to third-party websites governed by their own privacy notices.

05

How long it is kept

Information is kept only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including legal, accounting and dispute-resolution requirements.

Waitlist information will normally be kept until the signed-copy release and allocation process has finished, and for no longer than 12 months afterwards unless you become a customer or ask to stay in touch. General enquiry and meeting records are normally kept for up to 24 months after the last meaningful contact unless a longer period is required for an ongoing relationship or legal obligation.

06

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or to object to its use. You may also withdraw consent where consent is the lawful basis.

To exercise a right, email hello@benstocken.co.uk. You may be asked for enough information to confirm your identity.

07

Cookies and embedded services

We use essential cookies for security, forms and embedded services. With your permission, we also use analytics cookies to understand how the website is used and improve it. You can change your choice at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer.

08

Questions or concerns

Please contact hello@benstocken.co.uk first so any concern can be addressed.
